STEPSforward, formerly known as Hibiscus Coast Family Services and Parent Aid, has been operating since 1997.  Our role in the community takes on many forms and we provide support in various ways.  STEPSforward recognises that families/whanau come in all forms and children may be cared for by grandparents, other kin and non-kin carers.

The organiation is a not-for-profit charitable entity and is funded by government, philanthropic organisations and public donations.  We have an amazing governance committee with a wealth of skills and knowledge in both  management and family work.

Our qualified Social Worker offers a wide range of knowlege and assistance supporting parents in their parenting journeys.  We have two facilitators on staff for the Triple P parenting programme - a free, one-on-one course. Contact us for more details.

We offer a free in-home support service for parents who are experiencing additional stress or difficulties and need some practical help for a short time.  This may include light housework or child minding, meal preparation etc.  Contact our Home Support co-ordinator for more information on 09 424 4014.

Our Family Finance service consists of four budget advisors with over 30 years experience between them.  They are trained and affiliated with the New Zealand Federation of Family Budgeting Services.  Their services include but are not limited to preparation of a budget plan, cash flow forecasting, advocacy and advice on consumer credit contracts.  You can meet with on of our advisors for a one on one meeting at our Stanmore Bay office or fortnightly on a Tuesday at our outreach clinic at the Hibiscus Coast Community Centre in Orewa.

All services are free, confidential and easy to access and are available to families in Whangaparaoa, Orewa, Waiwera, Silverdale, Stillwater, Wainui, Waitoki and Dairy Flat.

All our staff are police checked and safety checked under the Vulnerable Children Act 2014.
